There are low expectations from Italy in this summer's world cup as coach Marcello Lippi has chosen a squad without any star names. The Azzurri have had an indifferent campaign, having drawn with Cameroon and Switzerland with a loss to Mexico in their friendly fixtures prior to this event. There are also some injury concerns to worry Lippi as Andrea Pirlo is struggling for fitness. Nevertheless, Italy are expected to qualify out of this group with the minimum of fuss.
